Compact, easy to use and it works! The last one I had was big and bulky which doesn't make sense for something you may never use except for an emergency ! This fits in my drawer with the flashlights. Crank is easy, sound is clear, and it worked right out of the box. Very pleased

I ended up using my phone charge to bring the internal 2000mAh Li-ion battery up to a full charge & I plan on maintaining it with the crank. It states that 1 minute of manual cranking will give you up to 20min of flashlight or 15-18 min of radio use. The led flashlight is very bright & the radio works well for news updates. A perfect storm companion!

Emergency radios are just as the name implies....for emergencies. These type devices rarely perform any of their tasks as well as single purpose units do. The radio works perfectly but of course does not sound as good as a stand alone AM/FM stereo. The weather radio works fine but will not pick up as many stations clearly as the handheld VHF I use on my boat. The light is very bright but still will fall short of some of the better LED flashlights. The USB charger works and I was able to charge my iPhone 6 with no issues but I doubt it will charge them as fast as a good USB charger. The key to units like this is having everything together in small package and this unit excels there. You get a good flashlight, weather radio, local AM/FM radio and USB charger all in one easy to store and transport unit. These are often stored for when you really need them and usually when that time comes the batteries are dead. This unit has a couple huge advantages there. It has a built in battery that can be charged via a micro USB, a hand crank or built in solar cell, and it also accepts regular AAA batteries. With all those features, this works perfectly for its intended purpose and seems well made.

Super impressed with all of the features this packs into a portable package! Right out the box I was trying everything out.

                  1. Super bright LED flashlight, can easily be operated in total darkness.
                  2. AM/FM Radio for emergency broadcasts with volume control, loud speaker, and built-in antenna
                  3. Hand-crank option so you'll never be without emergency power no matter what situation you're in
                  4. Solar panel as additional charging input
                  5. 2000 mAh rechargeable power supply with battery indicator, and AAA option
                  6. MicroUSB in for charging and USB out for emergency powering mobile devices
                  7. LOUD alarm for emergency signalling
                  8. Utility clip for hanging

So many utilities that you hope you'll never need to use, but will be thankful when the time comes that you do. Fits in one hand for easy operation and portability. My only change would be positioning the USB ports somewhere other than under the clip as it can make connecting and disconnecting power challenging.
