i installed this in my 2007 Dodge Durango. Easy installation and it works great with my Jensen VX7022 head unit. The video wire was not long enough to reach the front dash, but other than that it works great and the image is clear. The line markers on the screen help aid to tell how far apart or close you are to another vehicle as I back my SUV in a parking space.
Works great. Helps allot on my truck. I wired it to a 12v power on my radio and not the reverse wire allowing me to access the camera at any time. That caused the LEDs to stay on all the time. There's no way to turn them off. I ended up putting black tape over them.
Installed and fit perfectly onto license plate screw holes and used license plate pre-existing hardware (screws) to install. No issues at all, video and product quality are both great. 5/5 stars. This was installed on a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500WT with ESKY wireless video transmitter/receiver and ESKY 4.3TFT-LCD Monitor - all work fantastic together! Not sure if the camera or monitor is what is adding the fixed (non steering-wheel adjustable) red-yellow-green guide lines but they are helpful at gauging distance. Awesome setup, all for less than $70 can't beat it for price and quality no other manufacturer comes close.
I have been using this for about a month now. It installed easily and works great. Originally o ran an ignition controlled do power source, but the small LED lights near the camera were on all the time, so I changed the poet to the reverse light. That way was easier anyway. Very simple to pick up poet from the back up light to power the camera. There is no lag when I put the truck in revers, the camera is ready. It is actually responds more quickly than a factory back up camera on my other car. Picture quality is fine. Camera is adjustible by using a set screw to control the up/down angle. I have it on a 3500 dually truck so this was helpful. I have had no problems with it.
Hard wired it to a Pioneer head unit in my 2006 Tundra. Excellent picture day or night.
With that being said . lol . This set up is good . I have it mounted on my ladder rack on my big work truck ( Silverado 2500HD quadcab longbed 4x4) the truck takes a lot of room for parking. This camera helps a great deal . I can park within a few inchs of someone else's vechical . in fact at Hooters I had some guy check his car out because I was able to park so close to his little car. Too funny. 4 stars not 5? The momentary switch is a booger too adjust.
Very clear and great quality! Even night vision is awesome!
Works great, but had to tape over the LEDs with black tape to prevent glare. Also got a warning from an officer for "covering the state on my plate". I figure that since it is removable, enforcement could be a problem on his end and kept my mouth shut.
Although this is a good backup camera, the wires it shipped with are so thin they snapped off the RCA connector and are very difficult to strip and crimp onto another connector. I wish the manufacturer would spend a few extra cents on thicker gauge wire for the video cable.
The camera's video out cable isn't thin enough to route through most openings and can easily get damaged, requiring replacing that connector portion.
I've had this camera for 6+ months now and about 50% of the time the signal will dissapear and won't come back until I hit some more bumps in the road. Shame for the camera to be rendered useless by its weakest link.
EDIT: I upped a star since it seems all the makers have this video cable problem. I wish one would have a removable plug.
works good with I-MAX 4.3 rear view mirror. no problems so far
