An excellent product!
Pros:
-Colorful and easy to spot transmitters
-Transmitter signals are very loud (when the speaker isn't covered/muffled)
-Remote is a good size, easy to hold and the buttons are nice and big
-The remote stand has non-slip padding on it
-Batteries for the transmitters are provided
-Keyrings are provided for all transmitters
-Four small adhesive dots are provided for the transmitters
-Transmitters are lightweight
Cons:
-Transmitters are rounded on the top and bottom and this makes them difficult to stick to things
-Transmitters are not phone-friendly (I would not be able to easily attach a transmitter to my smartphone as the transmitters are rounded, curved, and twice the width of my phone)
-Difficult to attach the keyrings to the transmitters
-I wish there was a convenient place to put a small sticker so I could mark each color on the remote ("car keys", "truck keys", "wallet", etc.)
How It Works
You receive a lightweight package (easy to open) and slide out the contents on a see-through, plastic casing. The only thing you need to buy to for this product is two AAA batteries for the remote. Everything else is included (e.g., transmitter batteries).
Push open the battery casing on the back of the remote and insert the two AAA batteries - this is very easy and doesn't take much strength at all. I used a quarter to open the transmitter backs (this is the easiest thing in the world and I don't understand why others have had trouble with it). You only need to turn the battery compartment cover a few millimeters to the left to open it and insert the transmitter battery. When you turn the battery cover closed it will give a little click, letting you know it's closed completely. I took a close up picture to show three remotes: one's battery backing is closed; one is in the unlock position; and the last is open.
After putting in all batteries, I attached the keyrings to each transmitter. This was more difficult than I had bargained for. You need the keyring attachment if you're going to put a transmitter on a keychain, though. Although there were only four adhesive dots provided (one for each transmitter), I used two to apply one of my transmitters to a small DVD player remote. On this particular remote (which is about 2/3 the size of the Key Finder remote) the transmitter sits awkwardly. I wish the design of the transmitter were not rounded and curved for this reason.
I put one transmitter on the aforementioned DVD player remote, one in my purse, one on the car keys, and one on the truck keys. I tested all four remotes and they worked perfectly. They emit a very loud BEEP BEEP BEEP every time you press the corresponding remote color. If you use the adhesive dots to stick the transmitters to anything, make sure the transmitter is facing downward, so the speaker is facing up allowing for louder location beeps. Also, a little red light flashes. The little red light isn't very useful, I find, and I wish that the whole transmitter would light up (perhaps in a later design?). One of my pictures shows the red light flashing on the blue transmitter (the picture is slightly blurry - sorry).
