UPDATE: After nearly 2 years of being on my truck, through 2 winters and salty roads, and 2 years of thunderstorms, the camera still works great. The RCA wire that came with the camera stopped working after about 4 months. I replaced it with a coax cable with RCA ends, which also eliminated my cross-talk problem because the coax is better insulated.
Great backup camera for the price. It is a solid metal unit, I initially thought it was plastic. I really enjoy the ability to adjust the angle. We had a big thunderstorm roll through the day after I installed it and it still works after a few inches of rain washed against it, so it is definitely water proof. Installation was easy for me, though it does block some of the license plate (more than I was anticipating). I will probably be looking to find or fabricate some brackets to mount the camera higher (see pics). It took me longer to find the reverse wire in my truck to trigger the stereo than it did to install the camera. I wired the power for the camera to my truck's reverse light housed in the taillight so it powers on when the truck is in reverse. The RCA video cable provided with the unit is long enough to run from the bumper, under the bed and cab, up through the floor and behind the dash to the stereo with about a foot to spare in a super-cab F150. I wrapped the connections in shrink wrap to make them waterproof. The long cable is not insulated very well though and I receive a little cross-talk from the other wiring that I followed with the cable. This is not a huge issue for me, just some slight video interference, but it still gets the job done just fine. The DC wiring for the power cable is very cheap, hopefully it lasts a while. And the unit doesn't come with very descriptive instructions, so if you aren't sure how to install one, don't count on instructions to help much.
Pros: Good quality image day or night, constructed well, adjustable, long enough cable so you don't have to purchase anything else, guidelines on the camera's image, easy to install if you know what you're doing, and I can hitch up a trailer on the first try and parallel park with ease.
Cons: Covers a lot more of the license plate than I thought, cheap power wiring, long RCA cable is poorly insulated and you can receive some slight video interference once the vehicle is running and everything is powered up, poor instructions, but it still works very well.
I would buy another one for my wife's vehicle if it didn't have a factory backup camera. I still need to adjust the angles as you can see in the pics.
