Nice little display. I use it to display Flickr pictures using the Next Thing Co. $9 CHIP computer.
Great little monitor, especially for the price... Now let's see how long it lasts...
I made the mistake of procrastinating on installing it. The LCD shows horrible color distortion, almost as if the color channels were miswired. This showed first w/ the esky camera, and was confirmed using a dvd player. If you buy it, test it within the return period! (But note, that this requires some wiring work, so it's not especially easy to test it on the side. If you test it w/ a 12V auto battery directly, be sure you don't accidentally short anything and start a fire!)

After posting this review, I heard back from customer service and they promptly sent me a replacement, which works well. This, despite ordering the original one 11 months ago. So I can attest that "hisgadget inc" stands by their product, but I recommend testing it promptly after you receive your order.
It looks small
I paid $100 for a professional to do the installation for my sedan. I think he did it in less than one hour. At the beginning, he set it up to turn on when in reverse gear. It takes about 2 seconds for the video to appear, which is a little longer than desired. However, the image quality is very good for the price I paid. I notice that the monitor turns on and off even when I shift from drive to park. I would think that is not good for the monitor. Therefore, I asked the install guy to switch it to turn it on when the engine starts. Thus far, I am loving this set up. I just hope the monitor will last. I am going to buy another one for my minivan. I'll highly recommend the product. I received this product at promotional price in return of my honest unbiased review - this is my honest review after extensively using the product. Would recommend regardless. Let me know if this review helped you!
The monitor worked very well for me. I clipped off the white lead, yellow went to the vedio from the camera, the red power came from the lighter lead. My only problem was with the monitor shroud, it needs to be more pronounced and more securely attached. I solved my problems with black electrical tape and a little cardboard. In regard to connecting the power lead, don't try to use press wire connectors, the wire is too thin. Connections can be best made by removing 3/4" of the host wire insulation, twist the wire so that the individual strands are somewhat separated and then insert the connection wire through the most center strand void, twist around the host wire and secure with electrical tape.good luck.
I used this screen threw the rest out to replace the 4.3 tx fpv monitor
Excellent for the price. Works perfectly (for example) with this:
So adding a camera is both cheap AND easy.
Works great with the Esky EC170-06 HD Color CCD Waterproof Car Rear View Backup Camera. At first you will think the screen is too small but then you realize its just right.
This is a great little monitor. Hookup is very easy. A downside is that the sticky tape (claimed to be 3M) does not hold at all. It fell off the same day I installed it. I made sure the surface was cleaned with some alcohol but that didn't help. I ended up using 2 zip ties around the feet to hold it in place. The other downside is that the included power cord has extremely thin wires. Stripping and hooking these up isn't so easy and it might not hold in the future. Time will tell. I also not see any way to flip the picture upside down in case you want to hang the monitor off a ceiling. For the rest I really like it. Great clear picture and big enough to see what you need to see. Can't beat it for the price.
