Last week I lost my $100 + dollar Nissan spare key, then found days later in a bag in the basement after looking hard.. When I saw this, I ordered based on the customer reviews and immediately tested once it was delivered. Worked perfectly, as long as the receiver is in range. For the price, this is well worth the possibility of losing my expensive key again. I'm unsure of the battery life, but replacement batteries are cheap. I immediately niter the alarm speaker is on the backside of the receiver. When I flipped it over it sounded much louder. Overall very worth having for the price, as I misplace my keys in the home a lot. 4.5 stars because it does not connect to a smartphone.
Works as advertized, hope battery don't go dead when needed. Now I think I lost the remote, ha, ha!
As described. Useful and used often to locate small electronic devices that persist in disappearing from sight. Range excellent in multi-story dwelling. Recommended without reservation..
Perfect for those who misplace keys and handbags or anything else around the house.
This works perfectly to locate keys, pets, electronics, etc. without having to use a smartphone/Bluetooth. We used it on the collar of our deaf cat, so that we could find him when he hides (being deaf, he doesn't come when called). The only issue we had was that the battery compartment is not waterproof, and the keytag (where the battery is) dropped into his water bowl when he drank. It stopped working... But we still have 3 other colored keytags to use...we just have to figure out how to make it waterproof so it doesn't happen again... By the way, four coin-style batteries come with the four keytags!
This is a handy device for locating misplaced keys. The noise generated is loud and easy to locate. It has a decent range.
This system works perfectly.
I had to replace the batteries in the small round receivers about 1 month after use, but now have not had to replace them again so far and it's been several months. I think the batteries it came with were already somewhat low.
2 of them have stopped working within a month of using it. Customer service contacted me and sent me out a complete second set fearing I got some possibly defective units. Second set is working well so far. Very handy item.
Since my wife and I both are masters at misplacing our keys, this device is a godsend! It came with the CR2032 batteries that the receivers require. It didn't come with the AAA batteries that are required for the transmitter, but those are common, inexpensive, and will probably last for years. It isn't at all difficult to install the receiver batteries just using a penny as a tool to open the compartment. It was even easier to install the batteries in the transmitter and it requires no tools.
I tested all 4 receivers from various distances. Even at 37 feet, through a closed door, the receiver is loud enough to hear clearly. I tried to make a receiver fail by putting it in a large safe and closing the door. It didn't work from 6 feet away but, to my surprise, it did work from 3 feet away. I just can't reasonably expect any better performance than that. I'll have test the batteries every few weeks to see how long they last. CR2032 batteries are also common and inexpensive. I don't mind changing them. I just don't want to let them completely discharge because, if I do, I'm certain that cause me to misplace my keys! :-)
I bought one set and love it so much that I bought 2 more. Huge time saver!!! No more lost keys, glasses, purse, wallet, phone....
