It works great for my wife's purse and car keys. I wish they were a little bit smaller. It is slightly too big for the smaller remotes that my youngest son likes to play with and get lost in the couch cushions. Overall good product. Works well and range is good.
The Esky Wireless RF Item Locator Key Finder is great for finding those items the couch ate, under the table, or it’s beside you and you thought it was a snake (haha). We have all missed placed our keys or the remote a time or two. Well no more! Here comes the Esky Locator to the rescue. Just clip or stick the fobs to your keys, the remote, or anything else you misplace constantly. Going on a trip and want to find all of the little ones running around, put a fob in their pocket and know more looking for little Johnny.
Each fob comes with a battery, something usually you have to buy extra. The fobs are color coded to match the controller. Press the color key on the controller and the corresponding colored fob begins beeping. Loud enough to hear but not so load its annoying. The fobs are about the same size as most automobile key fobs. The range works great around the house and even better outside (about 30 feet).
So, if you are constantly misplacing items, this is a great way to help find them.
This is a great product. I have used two of the key chains -- one for my keys and another for my backpack. When I first received this product, I was worried that there would not be enough range or would not function without line-of-sight. I have purchased some low-quality off-brand versions of this product that work with an IR signal. These work, for the most part, but do not function if there is not a viable line between the keychain and the remote. This is not the case with this product. I have tested the function up to 30 ft with no issues. The keychains are very loud, I can hear the beeping inside my backpack from over 30 ft away. The remote comes with a nice stand that is not particularly hefty, but does not need to be. I keep it on my nightstand and it blends well with the style of my phone docks. The remote has a small LED light on the top of it, which is not particularly bright but a good additional feature for this particular product.
I usually keep the car keys in the same place, but once I misplaced my keys and searched the whole day to find them. So decided to get this one and it really worked as described. After that I never really got a chance to use it other than testing to see it works :). It comes with four key fobs and a remote with a stand. Key fobs come with 2032 coin battery, but the remote does not come with standard AAA batteries.
It worked perfectly fine and sound is loud enough to heard from across the room. This one would definitely save time when we are searching for keys!!
This is a review of the Esky wireless key finder. It's available from a few other sellers so shop around before buying.
The idea behind this product is that a receiver is attached to an item that may be misplaced (keys, mobile phone, purse, etc) and when it can't be found the corresponding button on the transmitter is pressed, causing the receiver to beep. You can then use the beep to find the missing item.
The key finder arrived simply packaged in a plastic bag. Contents:
• 4 x receivers, each with a different colour dot
• 1 x transmitter with stand
• 4 x CR2032 batteries
• 4 x keyring attachments and adhesive pads
Each receiver takes a single CR2032 battery (provided) and the transmitter a pair of AAA batteries (not provided). The manual is quite brief but clearly writtern and it describes the use of the product well. It's really all common sense though so you shouldn't have any problems getting it up and running.
In use I found it to work very well. I initially thought the alert from the receivers was a little faint but when testing all over the house I found that not only did the receivers beep from pretty much everywhere but I could also hear them. The transmitter does have a built in LED light but it's not particularly bright.
I'm only using these with keys but the receivers can be attached to other items using the provided adhesive pads. Due to their size and relative chunkyness they're not ideal for smaller items or things like mobile phones, really. Of course with a product like this you need to be within relatively close proximity to the misplaced item - they're not going to tell you you left your wallet at work when you're at home!
+ Simple setup
+ Good range - worked pretty much all throughout our house
+ Loud alerts
- The receivers are quite chunky (the reason they're not a five star product)
I'm very happy with this set of key finders. They work very well and are a bargain at the current price of just under $25. Due to their size they're not ideal for certain objects (great for keys or for slipping in a purse, not great for mobile phones). Recommended.
So far, it has been very useful. I have a tendency to misplace just about everything I own and this helps me track my crap.
This was a gift for my father for Christmas. They work really well. Beeps loud enough to hear and flashes color too!
They were good I would recommend to anybody
Works fine. Alarm could be a little louder.
Would love it if the alert volume was louder and the discs a little smaller.
