This is what exactly I was looking for. this camera works very well. I purchased this along with the Abco Tech 4.3 Inch TFT Car Auto LCD Screen Rear Monitor View Rearview DVD AV Mirror. Both of them work a perfect.
I needed something for my F250 xtra cab after backing into my wifes car. The picture is great and for the price I don't have any complaints. Really don't know how it can be improved, picture is wide and clear. Works for me. As a precaution I did silicon where I thought it might be a problem. Time will tell. So far so great.
~ It is a good backup camera, especially for the price. I had previously bought the non-"2013 upgraded version" and it fogged up as soon as I washed my car.
~ Recently bought this "2013 upgraded version", however I covered all of the potential leak areas with clear silicone in order to assure this lens wouldn't fog up again. Haven't had a problem after washing the car several times. Seems like it's going to work out just fine.
~ Video quality is actually better than expected (my Pioneer screen is probably even limiting the quality). Also, it keeps the image surprisingly bright (in a good way) even when it's getting dark in the afternoon.
this camera is something else it has the green yellow and red parking grid built in so you know were you are and wont back over anything. its small with a very big view and easy to install love it
The camera is good, though I ended up replacing this camera and a couple of other low-cost 170 degree cameras with a more expensive Boyo camera that has a better field of view. Something that took me a while to figure out is that the 170 degree measurement is the diagonal view, not the horizontal. This is analogous to the way that TV screens are specified by their diagonal dimension. The horizontal field of view for this camera appears to be around 120 degrees.
Slick - almost too small! I'll have to build brackets for my application, 8^)
As to it's weather resistance, I do not anticipate any problems, but only time will tell.
This little camera works great, even in low light. It has clear distance markers. it has gone through two rain storms and did not fog or sputter.
it works great I got this for my bike as it is a 1400 an top heavy so you cant turn around like on a small one to see whats there
I even put a 7" touch screen with it
Definitely agree with other uses that a little bit of clear caulk/sealant is a good idea around the casing to ensure more of a watertight seal.
Camera works perfectly with 4.3'' Color TFT Car Monitor Support 480 x 272 Resolution (B006MPRFJQ
To test when it first arrives, wire the video inputs to the monitor, and wire together the power cables (red is hot+, black is nuetral-) and press them on to a 9V battery's terminals. May have to cut back some of the insulation around the wire to get good contact with the terminals.
Clarity from this little camera at night is very good, definitely will work perfectly fine for parallel parking at night. Bracket seems sturdy and decently built. Comes with 4 little mounting screws. The camera's angle can be changed by loosening two smaller hex (allen wrench) screws (not included). Hard to see but its where the persons thumb and index finger are in the stock photo.
See product's user uploaded photo gallery for pictures of everything.
Better than you would expect for the money, but you still get what you pay for. I would have only given it 3 stars compared to other cameras I've used, but none of the others were this innexpensive.
Waterproof out of the box, no sealer necessary
Easy to install
Daytime picture is only OK
Low light picture is a joke (nothing but noise on monitor)
Parking guide cannot be turned off and is not adjustable
