Small enough to keep at the shop or take with me when I travel. Also this would be great for a bug-out bag. Everything works as it should, but it really could use a battery meter to show how much of a charge it has left.

Mine did exactly what they claimed it would. I think it's best to understand how this works before you buy it. The manual crank for instance; one minute of manual cranking gives you three minutes of continuous LCD flashlight or 15-20 minutes of radio usage at medium volume. So for manual cranking it's most efficient use is the emergency radio to listen to an emergency broadcast. To use the flashlight with manual cranking is hardly going to be worth it for a main light source.
The solar panel takes 10-12 hours to fully charge. Unfortunately, there's no battery bar to show you how charged the device is. If you're going hiking you could attach this to your backpack to charge. Otherwise, the solar charging really isn't going to help you at night, in the dark, during a power outage, when you will likely need this the most.
The internal battery only has 1000 mAh, fully charged that's just enough to jump start your phone battery for a quick emergency phone call. You're not going to be able to get a full charge off of a 1000 mAh battery.
The most practical way to charge this is by the USB cable. I'd personally keep this plugged up to a USB charger at all times so it's ready in case of an emergency. That being said if you don't, this does have the capacity to provide you with an emergency light, radio, and phone charger. It's going to provide you more radio usage that phone charging or light.
With realistic expectations and an understanding of this device's capabilities, I think this is a great emergency device.
I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have any questions about my experience please leave me a comment. I will be happy to follow up on my experience with this product.
I received this product complimentary from Esky for quality testing purposes; all opinions expressed are my own.

This little jewel would provide invaluable during emergencies. It will provide 50 lumen LED light, AM/FM/NOAA radio and even a way to charge phones. The items that come packaged in the box are:-
1x Esky weather radio
1x mini USB charging cable
1x 2.5mm output charging cable
1x 2.5mm connector to USB converter
1x User Manual
1x Warranty card
This device has 2 ways to charge during emergencies when electricity is not available. It can be charged by the hand crank on the side or the solar panel on the top. It can also be charged by other means like USB wall charger and USB cord from your computer. I was even able to charge this device from the USB outlet in my truck. The 50 lumen LED light is very bright. I was able to run the light for 15 hours on a fully charged device. The radio works well and picks up AM/FM and also the NOAA weather stations. Tuning in the stations is easy and they come in relatively clear. The antenna is a little over 9 inches long and lets down and folds compactly on top on the unit. The 2 charging ports are on the back of the device and they are covered by a rubber flap that protects them from the weather. The device is made from a sturdy plastic with almost a rubbery feel to it. Light moisture and rain will shed off the device although it is not designed to be completely waterproof. It can be carried by a handy lanyard cord that is attached to the back. It is light and compact at only 7.7 ounces and the dimensions are Length 5" X Height 2 3/8" X Thickness 1 3/8". It can easily be carried in the pocket and does not take up much space if packed in an emergency bug bag out or hiking backpack.. One of the best features about this device is that is will charge cell phones. I was able to put enough charge on an apple iPhone and an LG smart phone to make calls with. For all the features wrapped up in this emergency device, one cannot go wrong by purchasing it especially at the affordable price. It would be money well invested during an emergency or when camping, hiking or boating where there is no power.
This is one of my favorite emergency chargers that I have owned. We usually go with the cheaper brands and are disappointed upon receipt but we took a gamble with this product and I am so glad we did.
The whole charger feels quality and doesn't feel cheap in the slightest, it definitely feels it could take a beating. The radio itself is actually really clear, though I don't listen to it much, it's a nice feature to have. The light, wow. It's so bright and consumes very little power. I was using it for at least an hour and saw no drop in performance. It's definitely nice to have an alternate to charging off the power grid and this radio not only has one alternate, but two. The hand crank and the solar power. Granted the hand crank takes a little effort but it's nice to have in emergencies. I usually keep it charging on the windowsill.
This emergency radio/light is one of the best you can get for cheap. It's a quality design with decent feature. I fully recommend to adventurers and home owners.
