This Radio it's very usefull out side on site where you dont have a electricity outlet. You can charge the device with the Sun Light or with the handle to make your own electricity. Very nice, connect to my phone you can usit like a speaker or listening the radio. Very nice to have.
This thing is super cool. I fee like I'm ready for the next emergency!
Handy little emergency device, nice compact size. Took a few minutes to get things going for me, thought the flashlight came on right out of the box. I gave it a few cranks and the radio came on so the crank charger works great and the solar charging feature is a plus. The only negative I've found is the tuning dial is way touchy, it took me a while to find my preferred radio station but once I did I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality from that tiny speaker. Also, the flashlight is quite handy. Our cat must have gotten hold of a foil packet of medicine off the counter and we couldn't find one of the pills. Grabbed several of my cheapie LED flashlights which always work great - for a while - and no go. I spotted this thing, gave it a few more cranks and went to searching. Found the other pill and everyone is safe and happy. With severe weather season approaching I'll be having this little gem next to my bed.
This radio is the perfect thing for camping or an emergency. Several ways to charge, reception and sound quality are better than expected for the size and price. Highly recommend this unit
I received a gift of the [Upgraded Hand-Crank Radio]Esky ES-CR01 Multifunctional Dynamo Emergency Solar Hand Crank Self Powered AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio, LED Flashlight, Power Bank, Red in color. I had been looking at purchasing one of these units since Christmas but was never sure which one to choose from the many selections available. That choice was made for me and it ended up being the best choice from everything that I experienced by having the unit to run through it paces. This unit has the usual radio functions with the AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio. The operation of the radio was excellent in it's selectability allowing me to tune in to the available radio stations without any problem. In an unusual weather event for this time of the year, we actually experienced severe weather in the area including a chance of tornadoes breaking out without much warning. For me and my family having this radio made it easy to tune in to the streaming NOAA weather forecasts which kept me informed at all times of changing weather conditions.
In addition to the radio function this unit includes an LED flashlight and the ability to provide emergency power for charging my mobile phone as well as any other device that charges or operates off of USB power supplies. There are three options in providing power to this unit. The first is the ability to precharge the unit from any available USB 5 volt power supply that you may have available at your house be that off one of your computers or possibly off of a multipurpose power outlet that includes the built in power for USB devices. If you were to not charge this unit prior to experiencing a power outage, you are still in luck. This unit includes a hand crank that can be used to charge up the built-in battery on this device or, in the event that the power outage occurred during the day while there is sunlight available, you can use the solar cells that are built into this device to charge the unit. Regardless of the source of power you use to operate the radio or the circuit used to charge USB devices, you can feel secure in having the ability to use this device to provide the radio, power the built-in LED flashlight or provide power to charge other devices that use USB power. While testing this device I was able to charge two different smartphones without any problem. The device comes with the cables necessary to charge this device from a USB charger or required to charge a device from this unit that uses a mini-USB connector. If you have a device that uses a micro-USB connector then you will need to plug the cable provided by the device you wish to charge to plug into the female USB connector provided by Esky on this unit.
I was also able to demonstrate the use of another device that I received with this emergency radio that came in very handy while charging smartphones or tablets. I utilized an Aluminum Stand for smartphones and tablets that was produced by iclever. The stand works very well with smartphones and tablets of varying sizes. The stand allows you to position the phone or tablet in an infinite number of angles that work best for whatever it is you are using the phone or tablet to accomplish. I have included the stand in the pictures that I use to show the multifunction [Upgraded Hand-Crank Radio]Esky ES-CR01 Multifunctional Dynamo Emergency Solar Hand Crank Self Powered AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio, LED Flashlight, Power Bank, RediClever IC-CS01 Desktop Aluminum Stand for Cellphone, Tablet, E-reader and More, Adjustable Viewing Angle, Silver
This think can do it all. Charrge your phone. Light your way. Jam to the radio. Listen to Weather Broadcasts. Did I mention it doesn't take any batteries or plug into a wall.

The Esky Multifunction Emergency Solar Hand Crank Radio is great to keep in your emergency kit. It’s well made and easy to use. No matter where you go, you’ll have a way to power it. Turn the crank, leave it in the sun, or plug it up and you’re good to go! It also can charge an external device in a pinch. Though this really drains the small battery so use sparingly. With decently clear FM and AM radios, I didn’t have any difficulty listening to my local radio stations.
PROS
• Charge multiple ways (USB, Solar, Hand Crank)
• Versatile
• Flashlight
• Great in case of emergencies
• AM and FM Radio frequencies
CONS
• Too many cables to connect in order to charge an external device
• USB slot to charge with is NOT the micro version, but is the older mini version (so don’t lose the cable)
• Flashlight is bright, but also has a dark ring surrounding it
I am very excited about my ESKY Hand Crank Radio/Flash Light/ Emergency Phone Charger (You can use the hand crank or solar panel to charge a USB device; slowly). Though I have only had it for a short while, my impressions are good. The machine feels well build, the plastic case has a nice matte texture and feels good in your hand. The hand crank is tight against the body, I have had hand cranked flashlights in the past with easily turned handles that hold no charge. This one feel like it is actually doing something. The radio work like you would expect a radio to work and the emergency weather band also works fine. It is a good little emergency radio/light/USB charger for the money. I would definitely recommend at the price. The one thing I will be keeping an eye on though, is that it does get a little warm around the USB port. Not hand scalding hot, but warm enough for me to notice.
